Cognac AFB-BA709 Cdt Raoul Menard

The 22th of january 1945, Flt Officer Raoul Menard was shot down as he flew his Martin Marauder during a bombing mission over nazi Germany. So was his name given to the base 709.

To commemorate this event, France's Flying Warbirds NorthAmerican T-6G was flown to Cognac and BA 709, home of the Armée de l'Air's flight school that flies Grob 120 and TB 30 Epsilon.
