On 10 February this year, Christian, overcome by illness, left to join the world of aviators.......... He was our buddy, our friend, our ‘leader’, the founder of the association and the originator of one of the finest collections of warbirds in France, based at Melun Villaroche. A patriot, he insisted that the word FRANCE appear in the name of our association.
Always with new projects in the pipeline, he knew how to motivate people and shake up certainties and regulations to achieve his goal. In 2003, he made his childhood dream of owning a P51D come true; it was ‘Nooky Booky’, which belonged to Bob Hoover.
He then added to his collection with a P40, a T6, a Stearman, the PBY Catalina, a Mitchell B25, a Skyraider and, most recently, a DH82 Tiger Moth.
Never satisfied, in 2018 he decided to create ‘Paris Air Legend’, which in five years would become the biggest European airshow this side of the Channel.
