Built in Australia in May 1942, equipped with long-range tanks, it took part in some observation operations in Papua New Guinea from January 1943 to January 1944.
Stored at the end of hostilities, it was demilitarized and sold for £90 to the Royal Newcastel Aero Club in October 1947, where it was registered VH-BKG.
It then had several owners until August 1951, when it became the property of Air Griculture Control of Sidney and was registered VH-PCO. On November 27, 1953, it became VH-AIP and changed ownership several times until it was bought by Murray Griffith in 1987, who undertook a restoration... Finally, it was acquired by Christian AMARA's SNC SDPA in 2005, along with the P40 F-AZKU.
But Murray's death meant that the aircraft's components remained on hold, and were not repatriated to Melun until 2018.
Entrusted by Christian AMARA to Aéro Service Restauration in Libourne, the restoration of the aircraft in its 1942 colors was carried out from 2021 to August 2024, with the help of a few volunteers from FFW and RSA Libourne.
Finally, on September 10, 2024, it was transported from Libourne to Melun, where it is based in the FFW collection.
