C/n 182-142 is part of a batch of 824 T-6G constructed by North American's Columbus factory in 1951 and was taken in charge by USAF in 1952.
Ordered during the fiscal Year 1951 it was attributed the serial number 51-14456.
We don't have any information on his service in the Air Force apart its use as a trainer before being struck of charge and delivered to France.
France acquired lot of T-6 in the fifties. The first of them being 30 Harvard Mk II in 1949 then 119 T-6D in 1951, around 50 T-6G in 1952 and 51 Harvard Mk IV in 1953. With the war in Algeria, France made an operational use of the T-6 and there was a growing need for this aircraft. So, a new batch of 693 T-6 had been ordered, the last of these arriving in France in 1958 and 51-14456 was one of them.
51-14456 was taken in charge by the Armée de l'Air in january 1957, its serial number being retained.
The 27th august 1957, it left the CEV (the french test center) and was affected to EALA (light aircraft attack squadron) 7/72 the 20th february to the 26th november 1959 then to EALA 6/72 the 26th november 1959 to the 3rd november 1960 and finally to EALA 1/40 the 16th january to 18th september 1961.
51-14456 suffered two accidents the first one ten 17th july 1959 and the other the 27th september 1961.

A batch of 10 T-6s were delivered to Spain in the mid sixties, 51-14456 being one of them. These airplanes adopted new Ejercito del Aire (Spanish Air Force) serials from E.16-191 to E.16-201, 51-14456 becoming E.16-191. They were affected to 741 and 742 Squadrons based in Matacan and ended their operational career in 743 Squadron in San Javier.
